This booklet presents a pictorial essay of the application of iterative reconstruction in Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) using images, reconstructed with the Flash3D algorithm, of the Carlson phantom and of clinical bone scans. The intention is to document the effects of the number of iterations, the number of subsets and the extent of Gaussian filtration applied in the reconstruction process and to develop in the reader an appreciation of the effects of these variables on image quality.
