Max, a husky puppy waiting to be adopted in an animal shelter, makes a lifelong friend with Augie a baby blue jay nesting in his cage. When Max gets adopted the two are seperated and Augie promises to find Max. The friends are reunited after Augie experiences a series of adventures.
